Baraka’s Saving Goal

Have you ever wanted something so much, but it cost more than you had? Meet Baraka. His story shows how a big dream becomes possible with a goal, three jars and a lot of patience.

Chapter 1

The Dream

Baraka loved football. He could play for hours, dribbling the ball and imagining himself in a big stadium one day. But there was a problem: the football kit he wanted was expensive!

Many children feel this way. A big dream is wonderful, but dreams often come with a price tag.

A New Idea

One day, his teacher introduced the Little Savers three jars: Spend, Save and Give.

That’s when Baraka had an idea. “I can save for my football goal!” he said.

  • Spend for everyday things and small treats
  • Save for something special, like his kit
  • Give for helping other people

Setting the Goal

That night, Baraka thought about his goal. He wrote it down on a piece of paper and stuck it on his wall: Football Kit and Boots = KSh 6,000.

Under it, he wrote three simple steps in his notebook: 1. Save. 2. Be patient. 3. Reach my goal!

Writing a goal down makes it real, and every time he looked at it, he remembered why he was saving.

Small Steps, Big Progress

Each week, Baraka saved some money from his pocket money. His favourite evening snack cost KSh 50, and he gave it up so that he could put that money towards his dream kit.

It was not always easy. But week after week, he kept going, and his jar slowly filled up. With patience and consistency, his big dream felt closer every day.

The Big Day

After a few months, Baraka had saved enough! With a little extra from his family, he bought his football kit and boots.

He felt so proud and excited. He had not just been given the kit. He had earned it, and that made it special. As the sign said: hard work pays off!

The Little Savers Lesson

Baraka learned that saving helps you reach your goals. It is not just about money. It is about making smart choices, being patient and believing in yourself.

And the best part? He shared the lesson with his friends, so they could start saving for their own dreams too.
